Frequently Asked Questions

Q: where are you based?

A: the lovely "city of oaks" Raleigh, NC; however, I accept travel opportunities. 

 

Q: what are your rates and what do I get?

A: they vary; please review our services page, or click on "Book Now" to get started and get project specific pricing.

Q: how many days prior to my session do I have to book?

A: all requested dates are subject to availability, there is no required booking time frame; however, some wedding packages, all birthing sessions, and some events may require at least 2 weeks booking ahead. Situations vary and I try to be as accommodating as possible so please contact me and I will be in touch ASAP!

Q: what is your turn around time?

A: that also varies on the session type; however, 7 to 10 days is the typical turn around time for many packages offered. Wedding and event turnaround time is typically 3 to 4 weeks.

Q: do you offer expedited turn around?

A: this highly depends on various factors; however, some sessions are eligible for expedited turn around for a small additional fee. 

Q: do you provide HMUA (hair and make-up artist) with your sessions?

A: for an additional fee set by the HMUA, one can be provided; however, the session must be booked at least 2 weeks ahead for this service.

Q: what comes with each session?

A: packages vary; however, I always have props, jewelry, lighting equipment, and other items to make each session worth your while.

Q: how do you deliver images?

A: I either provide them for download via a Google drive link, or I deliver them in a flash drive; it all depends on the size and quantity of the files.

Q: can you send me the raw files from the session?

A: No; all images are professionally edited and delivered as specified within its package.

Q: do you offer print options?

A: yes. please contact us for print options and prices.

Q: do you edit images before delivery?

A: yes, images are retouched using high quality Adobe creative cloud applications.

Q: how far are you willing to drive for a session without a travel fee?

A: with the exception of wedding packages; 20 miles drive from studio location to any session is complimentary; anything over 20 miles will be charged to the client at a $0.85 per mile rate. This will be discussed thoroughly before any rates are imposed.

Q: what if I am late, need to reschedule, or need to cancel my session?

A: please refer to the late policy and rescheduling policy provided below. 

Q: do you give posing instructions during the session?

A: oh yes! part of photography is making sure the subject has great photography posture and poses throughout the session.

Q: how are you with small kids and pets?

A: pretty darn great! I'm a human and dog mom (and they're all wild) so I can handle a set from zero to chaos, getting enough attention to capture the photos needed.

General Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made within 24 hours of booking will get a full refund of the retainer. Cancellations made between 25 hours and 7 days after booking will get a 50% refund of the retainer. Cancellations made after 7 days of booking are not eligible for retainer refund. This is because by securing your scheduled date, the photographer does not accept any professional or personal plans on that date and time on account of the session.

***Because of the limited time and slots available, cancellations of seasonal/theme mini sessions are NONREFUNDABLE!***

Wedding Packages Cancellation Policy

Once agreement is signed and client’s retainer is collected, client must cancel within 48 hours of finalized booking to be eligible for a full refund of the retainer payment. Cancellations made between 49 hours and 2 weeks after finalized booking are eligible to receive a 50% refund of the retainer payment. Cancellations made after 2  weeks from finalized booking are not eligible for a refund of the retainer. Rescheduling is subject to photographer's availability and our rescheduling policy; however, if client reschedules 4 weeks or more from the scheduled session date, it may be granted free of charge. If client reschedules 2 weeks or sooner from the original date, there is a reschedule fee of $199. This is because by securing your scheduled date, the photographer does not accept any professional or personal plans on that date and time on account of the event.

Payment & Consideration Policy

Clients are required to pay a retainer in order to secure their session; the remaining cost is due prior to the beginning of the session, and no later than 3 hours after the session concludes. Files will not be released until full payment is collected. After 14 days of nonpayment with no suitable arrangement made by Client, MGE Photography Studio has full rights to seek small claims intervention to receive compensation owed. MGE Photography Studio also reserves the right to permanently discard files after an extended period of nonpayment and collection attempts. 

Late Arrival Policy

All sessions have a 10-minute grace period after scheduled time. If later than 10 minutes with no communication, it will result in automatic cancellation of session: retainer nonrefundable and nontransferable. It is advisable to contact the photographer at least 2 hours prior to scheduled session, or as soon as possible, when you realize you won't make it to the session. Please see rescheduling policy for rescheduling sessions.

***Due to the nature of seasonal/theme mini sessions, there is a 5-minute grace period. Session may be cancelled without proper timely communication. Because of the limited time and slots available, rescheduling is not permitted for seasonal/theme mini sessions; however, mini sessions that are not seasonal/theme sessions may be rescheduled following rescheduling policy***

Rescheduling Policy

Rescheduling session dates and times are subject to Photographer availability. Clients must reschedule at least 2 hours prior to their scheduled session; any rescheduling attempts made less than 2 hours but more than 45 minutes from the session may reschedule for an $50 fee. Any rescheduling attempts made less than 45 minutes from session or anytime after start of session will not be granted, session will be cancelled, and no refund will be issued. First timely reschedule (2+ hours prior session) is free of charge, second timely reschedule of the same session will result in a $50 fee, and third timely reschedule of the same session will not be granted, session will be cancelled, and no refund issued.

***Because of the limited time and slots available, rescheduling will not be granted for seasonal/theme sessions; however, mini sessions that are not seasonal/theme sessions may be rescheduled following rescheduling policy***
